We’re no strangers to all-inclusive vacations—but let me tell you, they hit different once you have kids! With little ones in tow, all-inclusive resorts feel like striking the jackpot. No stressing over meals, endless activities at your doorstep, and a chance to actually relax while the kids are entertained.
I’ll have my whole life for food and wine tours or spa retreats, but this season? It’s about making travel fun and stress-free with my kids while they’re little. That’s why we booked Beaches Turks & Caicos—and it did not disappoint.
If you’re planning a family getaway, here are five lessons I learned (and loved!) traveling to Turks & Caicos with a toddler and a baby.
1. Weather and Timing
When traveling with babies and toddlers, timing makes all the difference. If possible, plan your trip while the big kids are still in school. It means fewer crowds, open lounge chairs, shorter dinner waits, and wide-open playgrounds and waterparks for your littles.
Hurricane season in the Caribbean runs June 1–November 30, with October being the riskiest month. We went in September and lucked out with gorgeous weather every day. Off-season also meant quieter pools, easy dining, and extra space to explore.
Pro tip: Don’t be afraid of off-season travel if you don’t mind a little risk—you’ll trade the crowds for calm.

2. Booking Smart
As my husband likes to say: “Buy once, cry once.” These trips are pricier than piecing together an à la carte vacation, but with kids, the convenience is worth every penny.
Here’s what worked for us:
- Book early to spread out the sticker shock.
- Use rewards programs—we booked through Delta Vacations with our Amex and earned enough miles for a future trip.
- Five nights was perfect—long enough to explore, short enough to stay on budget.
- Schedule add-ons in advance. The Sesame Street Character Breakfast (a must-do for toddlers!) fills fast, and spa appointments are easier to snag if booked early.
✨ Insider tip: Book the Character Breakfast at the start of your trip. Your little one gets their Elmo buddy early, which cuts down on shop-begging and adds a built-in travel friend for the rest of the week.
3. Choosing the Right Village
If money were no object, I’d book a butler villa in Key West. But for us, the French Village was perfect.
Why we loved it:
- Ground-floor room with patio doubled our play space.
- Next to a toddler-friendly pool and Pirate Island Water Park.
- Close to the coffee shop (important!) and nightly Sesame Street show.
- Comfortable sleeping setup: king bed, couch trundle for our 3-year-old, and a crib for the baby.
It made our stay so much easier with little ones.
4. Don’t Forget the Comfort Items
A few simple items from home made a world of difference:
- Life jacket – Peace of mind when your toddler basically lives in the water.
- Clip-on stroller fan – Essential for the baby during beach naps and outdoor meals.
- Favorite pillowcase – Instant comfort for bedtime in a new place.
- Collapsible beach toys – Starts the fun right away.
- Sunscreen + bug repellant– The sun is strong, and mosquitos show up at dusk.
These little things saved us meltdowns and kept everyone comfortable.

5. Capture the Memories
Each family gets a complimentary photoshoot, and I’m so glad we booked it. We chose a morning session when the kids were happy, and the photographers were wonderful at keeping them engaged.
The packages are pricey (we spent $422 for 25 images), but honestly? Worth it. For once, mom was in the photos instead of just taking them. No selfie arms, no awkward group shots—just beautiful family memories to bring home.
If I had known the cost beforehand, I would’ve saved for it—but looking back, I’m so glad we splurged.
Final Thoughts
Traveling with young kids is hard, yes—but it’s also magical. Every trip teaches us something new about each other. We laugh, play, and grow together, and little by little, these memories shape who we are as a family.
If you’re considering Beaches Turks & Caicos with littles, my advice is simple: go for it. Pack smart, book early, and embrace the season you’re in.
